FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is PRP?

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is obtained from your own blood, which is drawn and then centrifuged to concentrate the platelets. When injected locally, it releases growth factors that stimulate tissue regeneration.

What happens during a PRP injection session?

The session takes place in a consultation setting and lasts approximately 30 minutes: blood is drawn, the PRP is prepared by centrifugation, and then injected after the application of an anesthetic cream. You can resume your activities immediately.

Does PRP have any side effects?

Since PRP is derived from your own blood, the risk of allergy or rejection is virtually nonexistent. Side effects are limited to sensitivity or slight bruising at the injection site for a few days.

How many sessions are needed?

The treatment protocol depends on the indication: most often 1 to 3 injections spaced a few weeks apart, with a possible annual maintenance treatment. Dr. Beley will tailor the protocol to your individual situation during your consultation.
